Meet Our Instructors
Corine Baerwald has been a Hatha Yoga instructor since 1990. She started studying Yoga in 1978 in San Antonio under Ester Vexler and Mary Francis Weathersby and has never looked back. Prior to moving to Kerrville, she taught classes at Palo Alto College and the Omni Center in San Antonio as well as in La Vernia. She continues to enhance her skills by studying with teachers around the country such as Donna Farhi and Judith Lasiter. Corine’s patience and deep desire to help others lead richer lives through Yoga is evident in her approach to teaching.
Willie McDaniel is a certified Yoga instructor with over 20 years experience in body, mind, and spirit work. Willie’s eclectic style of Yoga and his warmth, caring and creativity endear him to his students.
Sara Cotton has a deep love for yoga, with one of her earliest memories being practicing with her mother when she was only 4 years old. Since then, Sara has used Yoga to overcome many of life’s obstacles, including teenage and young adult angst, depression, recovery from childbirth and continual self-growth. She has combined her passion for yoga and love of the human spirit into a mindful, holistic practice. Her teaching style can best be described as “slow flow”, incorporating asana, breath work, and mindfulness into sequences designed to balance body, mind and spirit. Do not be deceived by the word “slow”; the pace and intensity of Sara’s classes work to bring the tapas, or fire, from within the soul to the exterior to be shared with the world around us. Her knowledge of anatomy and her open-minded approach to life allow her to assist a wide variety of students with specific complaints, aches and pains. Sara completed her 200 hour certification at the Living Yoga Program in Austin, TX. She accredits yoga with helping her to achieve the goal of completing a half marathon and loves to introduce athletes to the benefits of yoga. While pregnant with the love of her life, Charlie Rae Cotton, Sara completed OmMama, a pre and post natal yoga certification program. Sara enjoys living, loving and sharing the joys of yoga with all ages.
Julie Anthony received her yoga teacher certification through the Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas. She teaches a gentle flow class, appropriate for beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners. Julie approaches class with a sense of the sacred, focusing on linking our breath with movement and encouraging people to listen to their own bodies for guidance throughout their practice. She feels blessed to share the calming, balancing and healing benefits of yoga at the Yoga Space.
Ginny O' Bryan sees teaching as her calling--whether that be in her counseling office or in the yoga studio. Ginny came to yoga in the mid-1990’s ,in the hope of relieving back pain and stiffness, which was later to be diagnosed as scolisis. Yoga has been for her a path of self-discovery and healing. Teaching yoga is an expression of her desire to share the gifts yoga has given her. In her gentle and meditative style she especially embraces yoga as a way to help sufferers of chronic pain, depression, and anxiety.She is certified as a Yoga Teacher through Aura Wellness Center in Attleboro, Massachusetts. She is currently working toward a 500 hour certification as in Yoga Therapy.
Dana Cardwell has a very varied background including being a school teacher, massage therapist, personal trainer and professional counselor. Her current purpose in life is to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety in her life and other lives. She is the author "Living dementia and depression free with SET therapy. LIGHTEN UP!", which shows how yoga can improve mental health, brain function, and decrease one's chances of developing dementia.
Martha Wolcheski completed her yoga teacher training at the Living Yoga Program in Austin, TX and is registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 and is also a certified Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga™ Teacher. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years and has found that yoga and breathing techniques are an avenue toward wellness which is accessible to anyone. She loves to share the calming, centering benefits of yoga with her students. She focuses on building strength and body awareness, moving mindfully while drawing attention inward. She is passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone. She teaches a Chair Yoga class and a Gentle Yoga class and invites students to come enjoy the benefits that yoga has to offer everyone.
