Yin is a cooling yoga practice that focuses on the connective tissues, ligaments, bones, joints and fascia of the body. It supports the joints, tendons, and ligaments of the lower back, hips, knees and ankles. This meditative practice creates space in body which promotes openness and letting go. Postures are held for 3 - 5 minutes allowing the body to open and release. Yin yoga allows the practitioner a deeper connection with self, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. Yin yoga reduces stress; improves circulation, flexibility, and joint mobility; balances mind and body and, improve the flow of energy through the meridians of the body.
In this two-hour workshop, Jacqueline will introduce the practice of Yin yoga and its benefits. Participants will practice a series of postures allowing for openness in the body and mind. The workshop will end with savasana and meditation.
