Corine owned The Yoga Space for almost 20 years before she decided amidst COVID, the time had come to pass the proverbial torch to the next generation of yogis.

Sara Harris Cotton

sara

Sara Cotton has a deep love for yoga, with one of her earliest memories being practicing with her mother when she was only 4 years old. Since then, Sara has used Yoga to overcome many of life’s obstacles. She has combined her passion for yoga and love of the human spirit into a mindful, holistic practice. Her teaching style can best be described as “slow flow," incorporating asana, breath work, and mindfulness into sequences designed to balance body, mind and spirit. Do not be deceived by the word “slow;" the pace and intensity of Sara’s classes work to bring the tapas, or fire, from within the soul to the exterior to be shared with the world around us. Her knowledge of anatomy and her open-minded approach to life allow her to assist a wide variety of students with specific complaints, aches and pains. Sara completed her 200 hour certification at the Living Yoga Program in Austin, TX and is also certified in pre- and post-natal yoga. Sara enjoys living, loving and sharing the joys of yoga with all ages.

Mackenzie "Mae" Nickel

Mackenzie "Mae" Nickel started exploring yoga online before she ever stepped foot into a studio. She began her yoga journey 10 years ago with The Yoga Studio and is excited to be bringing her yoga practice full circle, now, as an instructor there! She graduated with high honors in Vinyasa yoga through Dr. Paul Jerard’s online Aura Wellness Center in January of 2017 and continued her studies with Rick Trzcinski at Rick’s Yoga Therapy with Kelly McHugh at Digital Yoga Academy and with Peter Marchand and Sanatan Society. With over 10 years of experience practicing yoga, Mae’s flows are instinctual, intentional, ubeat, and gratifying. She has used yoga as a way to find relief from chronic pain and enjoys sharing this with others.

I am a mom of two grown sons, a 26-year military spouse, and a US Navy veteran. My husband and I have three dogs and two horses and love to stay active and have fun! I have always been passionate about fitness and nutrition and only after suffering an injury while running, did I turn to yoga to help heal my body. I fell in
love with the practice and how much it impacted my overall wellness and decided to pursue teaching in 2015; I have been sharing my love for yoga ever since. My husband and I relocated to Kerrville, TX from Yuma, AZ in January 2023, and I am thrilled to be able to teach and share my passion for yoga and wellness here at The Yoga Space. Kelly Hagemeier

Kelly, Instructor at The Yoga Space in Kerrville, TX

Kelly Hagemeier grew up in Kerrville, Tivy Class of 2004, then lived in Austin and New Orleans before returning to Kerrville. Kelly has practiced yoga for two decades, and no matter where she lived, yoga was her constant and place of peace. During both her pregnancies, yoga was extremely important for her physical and mental well-being in preparing for birth and the new adventure of being a mother. A few weeks before her child was born, in the middle of Corine's All Levels Class, Kelly had her "aha" moment, realizing she wanted to become a yoga instructor and guide people through their own yoga journey. Kelly became certified in the spring of 2020 navigating her new certification in the midst of the beginning of the pandemic. Never the less, sticking with her peaceful place, she leaned into yoga, and started offering yoga at Kerrville Hills Winery. Now, after the birth of her second child, she is excited about the new chapter for The Yoga Space and Sara and Tracy, and excited to be a part of the team!
